This page is for purchasing offices, finance staff, and media teams. It explains who we are, how to buy, quotes, prices, tax, and how we handle your recordings and data.
Who we are
Detranslator is the business name of Aaron Pina, a sole trader in Ireland, CRO 792846. Contact: support@detranslator.com.

Buying options
- Pay by card on Stripe's page. Work starts when paid.
- Pay by invoice before the work starts. Stripe emails the invoice to the person who pays. It is due in 14 days. Work starts when the invoice is paid.
- Pay after delivery: work starts at once. We send the invoice when the work is done. It is due in 30 days. Only recordings we delivered are on the invoice. This option is available up to a limit. The order page shows whether it is available.
- Invoices can be paid by bank transfer as well as by card.
On the invoice form you can add your purchase order (PO) number, billing address, tax ID, and quote number. All of these are optional. They are printed on the invoice.
Quotes
You can get a quote on the order page. It lists the recordings, the total, and the payment terms. It has a quote number you can give on your purchase order. The quote is valid for 30 days. You can print it or save it as a PDF. You or a colleague can order from the quote itself.
Prices
$29.00 per hour of recording. $5.00 minimum per recording. Prices are in US dollars. A recording with one language is charged the same. If we cannot process a recording, we refund its price, or we leave it off an invoice after delivery.
Tax
We are not registered for VAT. A US tax form (W-8BEN) is available on request.
Your recordings and data
We use the recordings you order only to make the files you ordered.
- We use AssemblyAI for transcription.
- AssemblyAI deletes the audio within two days and the transcripts within four days.
- We use Modal for the computers that do the processing.
- We use Cloudflare R2 for file storage.
- Uploaded files and results are deleted 30 days after the job is done.
- Payment records are kept six years, as Irish tax law requires.
